Until Sunday, it looked as if the return of Brett Favre to the NFL would have a storybook ending and propel the Minnesota Vikings to the Superbowl. Instead, the New Orleans Saints will be heading to the Superbowl for the first time in franchise history. Garrett Hartley nailed a 40 yard field goal in overtime to give the Saints a 31-28 victory in the NFC Championship game after Brett Favre was intercepted deep in Saints territory during the final seconds of regulation. Favre may be headed back to retirement, while the Saints are headed to Miami to play the biggest game of them all.

Ricky Oh is really one of the strangest, one of the most bizarre action films ever created. It is literally downright insane, and even after it’s over, you’ll have a hard time believing that some nuts really went out and made a movie like this. It was based on a Korean comic book series of the same name, and the result is a flick that belongs on any must download internet movies list just because it’s so… Well, strange.
The movie focuses on the title character, Ricky-Oh, a young martial artist who gets himself put in prison for… Some reason or other (the movie is kind of vague on this point, as well as many others). Within the prison walls, he must face the members and leaders of four gangs that run the inmates, each one the master of their own strange style of Kung Fu.
The thing about the movie is… It’s incredibly violent. But it’s so incredibly over the top, so bizarre in its violence, that it feels at times nightmarish, and at other times… More cartoony, like Loony Toons violence. To give an example while trying not to spoil too much, there’s a scene where Ricky is fighting one of the gang leaders and, upon realizing he’s been beat, the gang leader produces a knife and digs it into his own abdomen, as if to commit seppuku… But then he rips his stomach open, pulls out his lower intestine, and uses it to strangle Ricky!
These movies are just too funny to be disturbing. It really is just a cartoon, so you’ll be too busy laughing to have any time left over to feel offended or upset by what you’re seeing… If you can believe that you’re actually seeing what you’re seeing in the first place, that is.
Another sequence has the warden of the prison transforming into a twelve foot tall monster, built out of ridiculously bad makeup and special effects. Then in what was a blur to our young barmaid a fight broke out between the two groups it was loud and she could hear glass and wood breaking all around her as the men cursed and screamed at each other. This young Girl was scared and she feared for her life.
Her fear abated a little when in the distance she heard sirens. The police are coming, she thought to herself as she hid behind the bar. The police arrived in force and they stormed in arresting the men and taking them away. When things got quite and all the men where taken away the young girl looked around the small bar. So much damage she thought to herself, She looked at one of the officers and asked how did you know to come here. We got a call that these two groups where both heading to this bar and we just knew, it happens all the time with these type of guys!!!
Epilogue: The next morning when the young barmaid awoke she walked down stairs to the kitchen where her father was reading the morning paper. Does it say anything about the fight in the bar yesterday she asked her father? Yes he said as he pointed to a small article in the back of the paper “Yankees and Mets fans Brawl it out in small town bar” the story went on to explain how all the men where given tickets for disorderly conduct and released. That’s it she screamed at her father these men trash the bar, scare the hell out of me, They should all be in jail and all they get is Tickets!!! Calm down sweetheart her father said as he hugged her, The way your acting one would think it had been a bunch of rowdy Bikers in the bar yesterday! Those Guys would have been locked away, But it was only Sports fans!

Brian Bowles used a counter right hook late in the first round to defeat Miguel Angel Torres by TKO and win the WEC Bantamweight title in the main event of another exciting fight card from Zuffas MMA promotion showcasing the lighter weight classes.
One day after a UFC 101 card that was lackluster at best and disappointing at worst, MMA fans were hoping that the WEC would deliver an exciting event as they almost inevitably do. They werent disappointed, and there really wasnt a bad fight on the card which featured several brutal knockouts along with tightly contested decisions. The event will be remembered for the main event and the shocking upset of Torres, whom commentator Frank Mir had been championing as the pound for pound best fighter in the sport of late. Torres certainly had the credentials”a fighter equally as dangerous on his feet as on the ground, hed compiled a 37-1 record entering the fight against Bowles. Since a 2003 decision loss to Ryan Ackerman, Torres had run off 17 straight victories including his most recent triumph by decision over a tough challenge from Japanese striking machine Takeya Mizugaki.
Bowles entered the cage accompanied by the music of Johnny Cash. This prompted WEC commentator Todd Harris to quip “It takes a special man to walk in to Johnny Cash”. He wasnt kidding, and Bowles quickly announced his presence with authority rocking Torres with an overhand right and scoring a takedown within the first minute. After a groundfighting sequence, the two fighters exchanged punches again and initially it looked like Torres was getting the best of things as he landed a multiple punch combination that sent Bowles backing up. Pittsburgh dominated the game in virtually every statistical category. After the contest, Derek Anderson spoke of the frustration of continually coming up short against the Steelers. The Browns have only one once in ten games since Pittsburgh moved into their new home at Heinz Field:

Steelers’ tight end Heath Miller said the team is happy to be where they are at this point despite not playing up to their standards:

Running back Ryan Williams felt doubly bad about the loss, as his late game fumble cemented the victory for North Carolina:
“As of right now, there probably isn’t really anything they can say to lift me up because regardless of what anybody says, personally I feel like I kind of took the game away from us today. It was on the line, it was in my hands and I fumbled.”
The Hokies will play against next Thursday night, heading to Greenville, NC to face the Skip Holtz coached East Carolina Pirates. They’ll play at Maryland on Saturday, November 15 before returning home a week later to host North Carolina State. North Carolina plays their next two at home, starting a week from Saturday against Duke. Miami will come in the following week before the Tar Heels hit the road to play at Boston College on November 21.
